On the morning of September 14, 2023, under the guidance of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the "First Energy Electronics Industry Innovation Competition Kickoff Meeting" co-sponsored by the Industrial Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Yibin Municipal People's Government was successfully held in Yibin, Sichuan. Wang Bohua, honorary chairman of China Photovoltaic Industry Association, was invited to attend the meeting and delivered a speech.

Honorary Chairman Wang Bohua pointed out in his speech that the energy electronics industry is an emerging industry with the integration and innovation of electronic information technology and new energy demand and rapid development. As one of the important fields of the energy electronics industry, solar photovoltaic has played a pivotal role in the development of the energy electronics industry and has achieved remarkable achievements. Especially in the context of the national "double carbon" major strategy, China has formed the world's most complete photovoltaic industry chain, according to the statistics of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, in 2022, polysilicon, silicon wafers, cells and modules and other photovoltaic main industry chain links in the global output of more than 80%.

In the first half of 2023, China's polysilicon production exceeded 600,000 tons, silicon wafer production exceeded 250GW, battery production exceeded 220GW, and component production exceeded 200GW. In terms of exports, China's total exports of photovoltaic products are about 29 billion US dollars, ranking among the "new three" commodities that stimulate China's foreign trade exports, and becoming an important stabilizing force for China's foreign trade growth; In the application side, the new photovoltaic installed capacity from January to July was 97.16GW, an increase of about 158%, a record high. After more than ten years of rapid development, photovoltaic has been from a small number of environmental enthusiasts "aristocratic" electricity, into thousands of households. The photovoltaic industry has developed into a dominant industry in China and has played an important role in domestic stable economic development.

Honorary Chairman Wang Bohua said that the first session of the Energy Electronics Industry Innovation Competition solar photovoltaic circuit guided by the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with the theme of "photovoltaic leadership, green empowerment", aims to promote the development and progress of the photovoltaic industry chain, leading the industry to a higher level and a wider field. It is hoped that through this competition to encourage the participating teams to carry out in-depth research on the key technical difficulties of the photovoltaic industry and the bottleneck problems faced by industrial development, explore new solutions and innovation points, and promote the technological progress and industrial upgrading of the photovoltaic industry to a new height.
