The Swedish government announced last week that the owner will no longer need to obtain a license to install the PV module. Minister of Housing and Digital Development, Peter Eriksson said that this regulatory change will promote the development of renewable energy.

Last November, the Swedish government proposed that as part of the country's 100% renewable energy target for 2040, it plans to effectively reduce the tax on solar installations above 255kW.

At present, Sweden's cumulative PV installation is very low, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) data, only 110MW. The Swedish Solar Energy Association believes that future growth may be dominated by small-scale PV systems, driven by self-consumption.

The Swedish government has begun to lay the foundation for the self-consumption of photovoltaic power generation. In November last year, the country announced that plans to provide 60% of the cost of subsidies for installing a residential energy storage system, the upper limit is 50,000 kronor.
