1. Beyond wind power! India's solar installations topped the list of renewable energy
According to a report by the data analysis company GlobalData, from January 2021, India's installed solar capacity has surpassed wind energy and has become the country's largest source of renewable energy. According to the data cited in the report, the solar photovoltaic capacity, including ground solar and rooftop solar installation, reached 38.8 GW in January, while wind energy was 38.7 GW. The report predicts that solar photovoltaic will maintain this leading advantage, because the government's key policy advancement provides growth momentum. It is predicted that between 2021 and 2030, new solar photovoltaic capacity will further increase to 107 GW, while wind energy is about 64 GW.
2. Bulgaria plans to increase its renewable energy production capacity by 2500 megawatts by the end of 2024
According to local media reports, Bulgaria plans to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy power generation by 2500 megawatts by the end of 2024, most of which are solar power plants. According to reports, Bulgaria plans to build a 700 MW wind farm, a 1,600 MW solar park and a 219 MW biomass power plant between 2020 and 2024. Bulgaria’s goal is to increase the installed capacity of renewable energy (mainly pv solar power installation) by 2645 megawatts by the end of 2030, which is in line with the EU’s goal of green energy transition.
