A solid solar installer will only temporarily remove a few tiles where special roof hooks need to be installed in the roof beams. They will then install the base plate to your roof membrane and attach special hooks to it.
Next, install flashing, preferably tarred, over the hooks to ensure no water gets into the newly drilled areas used to fasten the baseplate and hooks (see photo below). Then attach rails to each hook and mount your solar panels to them.
If baseboards and roof hooks need to be installed in an area below that does not have accessible roof joists, the installer will need to cut some lumber and install it in the appropriate area in the attic.
Sunforson offers many different types of solar bracket mounts for your tile roof to fit many different tile shapes. If you have any demand, please contact us: info@sunforson.com
