The plant is called O\'MEGA1 and was built by the French renewable energy power generation company Akuo Energy. The project is located in Pioranc, Vaucluse, in the southeast of France. According to the company, the power station covers an area of 17 hectares and has 47,000 solar panels on an artificial lake with a total installed capacity of 17 MW. After being put into use, the power station can meet the electricity demand of more than 4,700 households.
The French Minister of Ecology Transformation and Solidarity, Elizabeth Borne, attended the launching ceremony of the day. She said that this is France's first and most powerful floating photovoltaic power station in Europe, which will produce more renewable energy, which is the pride of the French state.
It is reported that including Akuo Energy Company and French Power Company are preparing to build floating solar photovoltaic power stations in other regions of France.
